What are you doing December 13th?

...Hopefully checking out the Nine Morgans series?  ;)

I just uploaded the final draft for Morgan on the Run to Amazon, and the new official release date is December 13th.  I'm hoping to get it uploaded to Nook, Google, iBooks, Kobo, and the other usual suspects by the end of this week.

It's been slow progress on the new Waldgrave book because I've been doing a lot of rereads for continuity and some other miscellaneous administrative tasks.  (...Have you checked out the new covers on the Waldgrave and Redemption series?  No?  You should.)  I still believe I will have a new Waldgrave book ready for my editor by the end of this year.

Happy Reading,
Al

Morgan on the Run is Done!

Last night I finished Morgan on the Run (Nine Morgans Book 2).  It came in about 10,000 words longer than I intended, and about 20,000 words longer than the first book.  Spoiler: there's two additional Morgans in this installment, and their stories took a little more telling than I anticipated.

The editor has this book now.

Beta readers, stand by to get the early edition in the next two weeks.  (If you're interested in beta reading or reviewing in exchange for a free copy, email me to see about openings for upcoming books: addisynltyler@gmail.com.)

The pre-order will go up by the 31st.  Get on my mailing list, and you'll be one of the first to know when it goes live.

And now, as promised, I'm going to start work on the next story in the Waldgrave universe.

Happy Reading,
Al

Morgan on the Run ~ Nine Morgans Book 2

Just popping in here to share a draft cover for Morgan on the Run, which has a tentative release date in November.  I'm feeling unusually tired today and not sure why, so this afternoon I decided to do the cover instead of writing.  Yesterday I spent my writing hours helping a dear friend with her book, so this makes two afternoons in a row that I've played hooky from the story.

I've got to bust a move on my word count tonight, so wish me luck!

Happy Reading,

Morgan in the Mirror is now available!

Post baby #2, things are moving along again in my world!  Morgan in the Mirror went live today, and last night I sent the first section of Morgan on the Run to my editor.  I'm well into writing that one, and already starting to think about the outline for the next Waldgrave book.

I'll admit I'm a little nervous going into a new Waldgrave book.  Secrets of the Guardian was published in 2011, and it's been almost five years.  I finished writing that series sometime in 2007, so really, it's been almost ten years.  Appropriately, that's the approximate time gap for the characters as well.  The epilogue at the end of Secrets, where Brandon finally meets his destiny, was set around ten years after Lena made her return to Waldgrave.

I've said it before in previous blog posts, but for those of you who haven't been following me the last 5 years, I have written other books in the Waldgrave universe. Several, in fact.  They're unedited and a little disorganized, and I never intended to have them published.  I still don't intend to publish the vast majority of them because the stories need more polishing, and some of them might threaten to bore readers to death.  Some of them went a little wild and cross-genre, becoming more romance or science fiction than urban fantasy.

I've even already written a very rough and freestyle draft of Brandon's book, a.k.a. "the next Waldgrave book".  I wrote it back in 2008(ish), going by the file dates on my computer, and it's currently 60,000 words long.  So why haven't I published it, all of these years?

It leans a little more into the SciFi realm, because it does go into what's on the other side of the portal.  (I won't be giving any spoilers here on the portal, what it is, where it goes, etc.  You'll have to wait for the book.  Sorry!)  But beyond the genre shift, I initially outlined Brandon's story as a second trilogy, and after I wrote the first one, I found myself enrolled in two Master's degree programs and desperately in need of cash to pay my bills.  Writing took a back seat to school and a job to pay for tuition and groceries.  (In a grand irony, even with the relatively small following that Waldgrave has, three more books in the Waldgrave universe probably would have given me enough income to write full time by now.  But alas--hindsight is always 20/20.)

So there I was.  One finished book in a trilogy, ending in a pretty steep cliffhanger, no time to finish the series, and no idea when the time would come around.  Would I have been annoyed with an author putting out a cliffhanger without having the next book ready?  Yes, I would have.  So I kept what I had unpublished and put it on the back burner.

And then I started getting fans for that series.  And I started worrying I would disappoint them.  And I put it off a few months, and another year, and just until the next series was done...until now.

In October, I am going to rewrite what I have, and hopefully make it worthy of all of the wonderful readers who have written me over the years wanting more from these characters.

Book 4 is coming, people.  I hope we're all ready.

Happy reading,
Al

What has Morgan le Fay been up to all these years?

Find out on September 1st.  The pre-orders are now up on Kindle, Google Play, Nook, Apple, and most other major retailers.

I sent out the ARC copies to the great folks subscribed to my newsletter who volunteered to read and review, and I'm getting pretty excited for the launch of this book.  Some feedback has already come back that's helping me pick and choose areas to focus on in the second book, which is coming along nicely, so I'm getting very excited for the series as well.

With the arrival of my new baby, I noticed today that my vegetable garden is in a terrible state.  It's been overrun with weeds.  I may have to take some time to reclaim things from the wilderness.  Not for a few more days, because my older child is sick with a virus this week (poor guy!).

I'm already contemplating the outline for the next Waldgrave book, which is the next project on my list.  I also accidentally read a very brief snippet of a lovely review that someone left on the seventh book in the Redemption series today; I don't make a habit of reading my reviews, because it doesn't play nice with my perfectionism and that way lies insanity.  I caught the first sentence of this one while trying to fix something on the sales page, however, and it was very motivating and encouraging to hear that someone enjoyed the series so much and wanted more books.

Thank you, kind stranger.  Your words made me smile.  Someday, when I'm dusting off the outline for the next book, it's fans like you I'll be thinking about.

Happy Reading,
Al

Ebook Sale & Update on Morgan Book 1

The manuscript for Morgan in the Mirror, Nine Morgans Book 1 is now out to my new list of beta readers.  I am so incredibly happy with my team for this novel, which includes several new members who had subscribed to my email list after reading another of my books.  Special thanks to everyone who volunteered!

I am currently writing the next installment in this new series, and it's coming along a little slower than usual due to the arrival of my new baby.  I did work a little maternity leave into my schedule, though, so I should be able to catch up and make my deadline.

Happy Reading,
Al

Also, Roz Marshall has orchestrated another listing for free and $0.99 ebooks, so be sure to swing through--your next favorite could be in here!

Morgan in the Mirror

I finished my initial edits for the first book in my Nine Morgans series.  The latter half still needs to go through additional editing, but for the most part, the book is done.

I'll be putting together my outline for book 2 in that series today.  I'm optimistic that I'll get that one at least mostly written before my second child is born (due mid-July), but I've had some symptoms that make me think baby may be arriving sooner than later.  We'll have to wait see.  Coupled with my toddler being sick the last few days, I'm running a little behind on my schedule, but I'll feel much better once I get this outline done--that way I already have my road map if I end up taking a short maternity break.

Anyone subscribed to my newsletter will be getting some sneak peak chapters and a cover reveal of the new series today, so enjoy!

Happy Reading,
Al

Wishing everyone luck at July Camp NaNoWriMo!

I'm going to try to participate this year.  I usually do.  However, I'll be setting my word count goal a lot lower than normal.

I'm pregnant, and my due date is mid-July.  :)

My toddler is thrilled that he's getting a new baby to play with (as are the rest of us), and I've been writing like mad the last several months to keep up my writing production schedule so that I don't miss a deadline if I end up taking some maternity leave.  This may explain for some of you why I suddenly started writing novellas instead of novels, as is my usual habit.  I've been busy cleaning out a spare bedroom, and in recent weeks, helping my husband to convert it to a baby room for the new arrival.

But the baby room is almost done, and the baby is almost here, and I am almost done writing the first book in a new series that I will publish this fall.  Anyone signed up for my email list will get a sneak peek of that cover in the Zombies & Zinnia release email that will go out on July 5th, as well as an invitation to beta read for the new series.

Happy Reading (& Happy Writing, to all of my friends doing Camp NaNoWriMo),
Al

More Witches on the way

...and maybe a Fay?  The latest series I'm sketching out is going to feature Morgan le Fay.  I've got the outlines complete, and I spent last night drafting covers for a 5 novel series arc.  Stay tuned for more on this one, because I'm a stone's throw from finishing the first book, and I intend to launch the series this fall!

I'll be putting the finishing touches on the 6th installment in the Hawthorn Witches series today, and it is set for a July 5th release.

A new Facebook page is up, so go ahead and give it a "like" if you want to keep up with my new releases on social media: https://www.facebook.com/addisynltyler/.  The page is still in progress, so forgive any mess until I get things put together and put up some posts.  Alternatively, you can always hop onto my mailing list if you want to get updates in your inbox.

I'm also participating in a free book promo this weekend, so be sure to swing through the lists to pick up some free books!  It's not just exclusive to Amazon this time around, so Apple, Nook, Kobo, and Google Play readers can get free books too.  :)

Fried my laptop

Last night I made the classic bad decision to drink something without a lid near my laptop.  I spilled it, some got on the laptop, and now my laptop is dead.  I'm holding out with my last laptop, which has a dead battery, suspected RAM issues, missing the F5 key, and overheats easily.  I feel like a total moron.

This should not affect any planned releases through July, but stand by for further disasters.  :P

So I guess this means I'm in the market for a new writing laptop.  All suggestions welcome.

Hawthorn Witches Book 6 is up

The pre-order for book 6 is up now, with a release date in early July!

I spent a chunk of time yesterday making sure everything was finalized for the release of Hawthorn Witches Novella #5 in early May, and then got the new pre-order set up.  I'm about 13,000 words into writing my next book, and if it's good enough, it will be the first installment in a new series.

Allergies are killing me this week, but we have a freeze coming this weekend.  As much as I love the flowers I'm kind of hoping they all die before Monday.  Okay, maybe not *all* of them, but you get the idea.

I've joined a new app - Book Sprout!

Some time ago, I heard about a new app on my writer's forum.  It's called Book Sprout, and it allows you to follow your favorite authors and receive updates on their new publications.  It's still small (but growing), and I was intrigued by the idea of a sort of personally tailored book recommendation service that would send updates to my phone, so I've signed up.

If you're interested, look here.  The app is free: https://booksproutapp.com/

I am an author on there, so give me a follow if you want to use your phone to keep up with my new releases.

Vampires & Vinca

It's been a crazy few months in my household.  We're all sick again, this time with an awful cough and cold that's lingered for weeks.  My toddler and I both developed some nasty ear infections from it.  :P

And lost in my medicated and exhausted haze, I forgot to make the announcement that Vampires & Vinca, Hawthorn Witches #4, is now available.

The pre-order for Necromancers & Nettles is up now, as well, and I've completed the first draft for Zombies & Zinnia, Hawthorn Witches #6.  It's with my editor now.

Today, I'm on an outlining spree.  I'm hoping to get a novel a month written in April, May, and June, and if everything goes to plan (and none of us get sick again) at least one new novel in the Waldgrave universe will be in that mix.

Happy Reading,
Al

Necromancers & Nettles

I've been out of it for a few days due to some unfortunate events in my family.  My kid is sick again, same time as last year, and a similar illness.  The doctors are asking for more tests to figure out why this keeps happening, and on a kid as young as mine is, they're pretty scary and painful. I'm not looking forward to that.  In the same week we got this health news, one of my grandparents also passed.  When it rains, it pours.

But in happier news, I have uploaded the final edits for Vampires & Vinca (Hawthorn Witches Novella #4), and bumped up the release date to March 1st, so fans of that series will be getting the next installment a few weeks earlier than previously scheduled.  The pre-order for Necromancers & Nettles, (Hawthorn Witches Novella #5) is now up with a tentative release date of May 3rd.

Today, I started fleshing out my existing outline for Novella #6 using a new technique.  I'm hoping the additional outline details might up my writing speed a little more.  With some other impending health-related stuff later this year, I want to try to keep my release schedule the same without any potential sacrifices to the quality of the stories.  We'll see if it helps, and wish me luck!

Happy Reading,
Al

Redemption Book 7 is now available!

Fox Blood, Redemption Book 7 went on sale today!  Thanks to all the fans who have supported this series through 7 installments.  I am truly grateful for each and every one of you, and I hope this volume lives up to expectations.  It is the last book in the series, but I'm open to writing more in this universe.  We'll have to see if the stars align to make that happen; but until then, thanks again.

Happy Reading,
Al

The edits are done!

I have just completed the edits for Fox Blood, Book 7 in the Redemption series!  HUZZAH!  I can finally go to bed!

The final draft has just been uploaded everywhere except Google Play (sorry, Google, your process is long and cumbersome...I'll get to you this weekend).  It is on pre-order and set for the normal release date of January 26th.

Goodnight and Happy Reading,
Al
